However, so that we can dance the week of Halloween and do some fun Halloween things, we will be doing gymnastics two weeks in a row. We will then do dance two weeks in a row to make up for it and get ourselves back on track.

Yea for Remembering!

I have been amazed as to how well the children are able to remember the dance steps that we have been learning. It's hard for them to remember because we only meet once a week and then on top of that, they only have dance once every two weeks. Yet, they are remembering so well! Their favorite thing to do seems to be the stomp. No matter the age group, if they remember one thing, it's to stomp. I am so proud of them! Keep up the great work!

Maineville 10/06/09

Today in the Monkey room I was really impressed by their ability to remember the combination that we have been working on.  When I asked if they remembered it, they walked me through it, step by step. I was so proud of them! It is hard for the children to remember what we did two weeks ago, since we alternate dance and gymnastics, but the Monkey Room at Maineville did just that! Keep up the good work guys!

Circle Dance

We will also be playing a circle game. All students will get in a circle and when their name is called they will go into the middle of the circle and dance however they want. This continues until every child has had a turn.

Freeze Dance

In order to continue to make dance fun for all students as well as an attempt to learn names, we will be playing a game at the end of every class. In this game we will be playing music and letting them dance however they want, but as soon as the music stops, they must FREEZE! They have to stay frozen until the music begins to play again. The first person to move is out and must go sit down. They get to be in the panel of judges to watch to see who moves. This continues until there is one person left still dancing.

Meet Ms. Nicky!

Hello! My name is Nicky Wilson! Here at Kids R Kids I am a dance and gymnastics instructor for our “Movin’ and Groovin’” specials program, and the instructor for our after-school “Kick Start” dance club. I am 20 years old and a junior at Wright State University where I am studying business. I’ve been dancing my whole life, since I could walk. Dancing and teaching dance is truly my passion. I was a high school cheerleader and state champion dancer, and during that time I coached multiple pee-wee dance and cheer teams. Outside of Kids R Kids, I’m engaged to be married to a sailor in the U.S Navy; however right now I live with my two wonderful parents, my twin sister Christy, and our spoiled toy poodle named Ace. I have a blast dancing and I hope that the children will love dance as much as I love teaching it.

Meet Ms. Kayla!

Hello, my name is Kayla Owens and I am nineteen years old. I have been with Kids R Kids for a little over a year now and I have worked with every age group. I taught a dance and gymnastics class to the school age and preschool children through the special programs here at Kids R Kids over the summer. I am going to continue teaching dance and gymnastics to the preschool and toddler children throughout the school year.

I was a cheerleader and a gymnast for nine years and I really have a passion for both of them. I have been to very many out of state and local gymnastics meets and cheerleading competitions over the years and I really enjoyed it.

I am very excited and am looking forward to working with your child. I really enjoy working with children of all ages and I plan on making a career out of it someday.
