Pre-school Week 1

This week we are focusing on our feet, more specifically our toes. We will be discussing where our toes are. We will be doing an exercise in which we “make it rain” with our toes and tip toe around the room. We will be working on touching our toes to the front and hitting them to the back. We will also work on pointing out toes to the left and right with our toes. We will be moving forward, backward, and side to side as well.

Meet Ms. Nicky!

Hello! My name is Nicky Wilson! Here at Kids R Kids I am a dance and gymnastics instructor for our “Movin’ and Groovin’” specials program, and the instructor for our after-school “Kick Start” dance club. I am 20 years old and a junior at Wright State University where I am studying business. I’ve been dancing my whole life, since I could walk. Dancing and teaching dance is truly my passion. I was a high school cheerleader and state champion dancer, and during that time I coached multiple pee-wee dance and cheer teams. Outside of Kids R Kids, I’m engaged to be married to a sailor in the U.S Navy; however right now I live with my two wonderful parents, my twin sister Christy, and our spoiled toy poodle named Ace. I have a blast dancing and I hope that the children will love dance as much as I love teaching it.

Meet Ms. Kayla!

Hello, my name is Kayla Owens and I am nineteen years old. I have been with Kids R Kids for a little over a year now and I have worked with every age group. I taught a dance and gymnastics class to the school age and preschool children through the special programs here at Kids R Kids over the summer. I am going to continue teaching dance and gymnastics to the preschool and toddler children throughout the school year.

I was a cheerleader and a gymnast for nine years and I really have a passion for both of them. I have been to very many out of state and local gymnastics meets and cheerleading competitions over the years and I really enjoyed it.

I am very excited and am looking forward to working with your child. I really enjoy working with children of all ages and I plan on making a career out of it someday.

What The Year Holds

Throughout the year we will learn stretching techniques, fundamentals of dance and gymnastics, dance routines, songs, and creative movement. All children are capable of relating and understanding basic techniques that are shown to them and demonstrated properly.
